How many cars does the average car salesman sell in his/her first month?

It would depend on where you live and what sort of car you are selling, and if you sell new or used cars.





Usually, salesman dont go on number of cars, they go on profit. As in, they have a target of $5000 profit for the week, but that is only an example.
How many cars does the average car salesman sell in his/her first month?
You cannot go by AVERAGE salesman figure. Unlike a sales help at the local dept store, at dealerships your SALESMANSHIP completely determines your income.





In a single dealership (or Real Estate agency, etc.) you can have one salesman making a million dollars per year, and another person thinking of dropping out because they can%26#039;t pay the bills. It is all about the SALESMANSHIP - not the average.

I run a new car dealership and most new sales people will sell 3 or 4 cars in first month. Mostly due to the sales person learning and tagging along with who ever is training him/her.





If you work for Toyota or Nissan you better 20 cars per month to make a living, domestic you can do about 12 to make a living. If you are getting into this business good luck, it is a fun business and I have made a lot of money selling cars over the years.
